Am I eligible to apply with PayPlan by RBC?

PayPlan by RBC applicants must be Canadian residents and over the age of majority in their province/territory of residence (i.e., 18 in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan; 19 in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Yukon Territory).

How do I apply with PayPlan by RBC?

You can start at the website of any participating online retailer and follow the prompts to apply for PayPlan by RBC. Additionally, at select retailers, you can apply in-store by scanning the QR code. Applying is fairly quick, and you’ll know soon whether or not your application has been approved. You will also need to read and accept the Terms and Account Disclosures before proceeding.

Will financing a PC impact my credit score?

Applying for a PayPlan by RBC loan only results in a soft inquiry, and it will not affect your credit score.

After your loan begins, PayPlan by RBC may report your monthly and final repayment status to credit reporting agencies, which may show up on your credit report and impact your score.

What information or identification do I need to complete the application?

Applicants must have a valid Canadian post-paid (e.g. monthly, bi-weekly, etc.) mobile phone plan and an email address so we can verify the applicants’ identity. Additional ID verification may be required. Prepaid phone plans cannot be used to apply.

Valid identification may be required for further verification.

When will my first payment be due?

Your payment will be due at least 28 days after the retailer has notified RBC Ampli Inc. or Royal Bank of Canada of your completed order.

How do I make a payment with PayPlan by RBC?

You can only make payments on your loan from a chequing or savings bank account. You cannot make payments via credit card.

For loans opened under RBC Ampli Inc. To make a payment online, visit members.rbcpayplan.com and enter the mobile phone number associated with your PayPlan by RBC account. Once logged in, you can view the details of your loan, make a one-time payment or set up recurring auto-payments.

For loans opened under Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). To make a payment online, visit RBC® Online Banking to monitor your loan, make payments, and more.

How long do I have to pay off a PayPlan by RBC purchase?

The term of the loan and the dates your payments are due are predetermined from the date that your order is placed. Currently, we offer terms from 6 – 48 months (depending on your purchase). Your first payment will be due at least 28 days from the date of your completed order. Subsequent payments are due on that date every month for the duration of your loan term.

For loans opened under RBC Ampli Inc. To view your payment schedule, simply visit members.rbcpayplan.com.

For loans opened under Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Visit RBC® Online Banking, sign in using your existing login information to monitor your loan and check your next payment date.

Can I pay back my loan early?

Yes. You can prepay anytime for all or part of your loan. There is no penalty for paying early. Any prepayments will go directly towards your principal balance, which may shorten the duration of your loan.

Can I change my order?

No changes are allowed to an order that has already been placed with PayPlan by RBC. If you wish to cancel your order and start over, please contact the retailer directly for an order cancellation.

*The term is for a loan to finance a purchase resulting in, for example, 6 equal monthly payments of $166.67 per $1,000 borrowed. Subject to approval of credit application. PayPlan by RBC loans are provided by RBC Ampli Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, or Royal Bank of Canada as applicable, and are subject to its standard lending criteria.
